Canadian dollar falls to 78 cents as data show nation's economic growth grinding to halt

Sigh it's very tedious trying to enlighten you on economic matters. It's obviously a waste of my time but I'll give it one more try. First of all I didn't call you a moron. I asked you if you were one. You have every right to say no, although your posts would not really lend much confidence to such an answer. The Canadian dollar declined today, DESPITE an 8% rise in oil because the GDP numbers that came out from Statscan were so unexpectedly bad. You tried to deny this. I presented you with an article. Did you read it? I'm trying to help inform you but you're not making it easy. So I asked you to do the grown up adult thing and simple admit you were wrong. Which you refuse to do. While yes of course there are more complex issues at play, I'm going to try to simplify it for you. Our Canadian dollar is getting weaker because our economy is getting weaker. That is a testament to 8 years of failed Harper policies which I already described for you in great detail which you still haven't grasped. Statscan just had to revise our job numbers and cut them by 1/3. We only created 120,000 jobs in the entire year of 2014. That's pathetic. Even worse when you consider at least half those jobs went to Temporary Foreign Workers. Can you imagine if the BLS revised their numbers and said whoops we didn't create 3 million jobs in 2014, only 2 million jobs. That would be an outrage. A national embarrassment. Here, it's just another day in Harper's Canada. Our national statistical agency has been cut down to a joke. So the Canadian economy is going downhill fast and facing tremendous headwinds. Meanwhile the US economy is booming and is growing at the fastest clip since the late 1990's. The Clinton Era was itself the greatest peacetime economic expansion in American history.

I also think our dollar is returning to it's normal sport against the US dollar and what the parity we saw over the last few years was definitely a deviation from the norm.

There is no normal "sport" against the US dollar. The whole reason why our dollar got stronger was because while George Bush and the Republicans crashed the US economy, Canada fared amazingly well due to 13 years of sound Liberal policy including massive budget surpluses, staying out of wars and regulating the banks. We threw all that to the curb and now 8 hard years of failed Harper policies are going to catch up with the entire country. I just hope my Green Card is ready in time so I can get the hell out. The US is booming. That's where I want to be.
