I can't quit. Has anyone successfully used vaping to completely end their cigarette habit?

This is long, and I apologize, but please allow me to share my story so far...

When I bought my last pack of analogs at the gas station, I also desperately bought an eGo pen and some 24mg juice that was actually not terrible, but the eGo pen died after a week (coil and silica wick burnt out, and I did not know about replacements)...

So the day the eGo pen died, I happened to be walking down the street in the main business area in Denville, NJ and saw in a shop window 'NUCLEAR VAPES' but could not see inside. At this point being a total newb, I knew that vape maybe = vaping and maybe = e-cigs, so I went inside...(cue Alice falling into the rabbit hole) LOL...

I got a great setup and some awesome juices on Jan 25th 2016, and cut over completely to vaping (thanks to /u/nuclearvapes) which is has their local B&M in the next town over from me.

I started with some 12mg nice and now am down to rotating 1mg and 0mg throughout the day.

My first device was a Kanger SUBVOD, and would have been happy with that but after 6 hrs the battery was dead, and waiting the 5 mins or so for it to get enough power in it to fire while then vaping tethered to a cable was not going to work.

3 weeks later, I then went back to /u/nuclearvapes and got the Kanger TOPBOX mini for a second device (with a Nitecore UM10 charger and 2 LG HG2's), and was then able to switch off the 2 devices either when the power died as well as have 2 juice flavors going.

The RBA deck for the TOPBOX tank got me interested in building, and a month ago, also got a Tobeco Velocity clone, some wire and cotton and have been rebuilding all kinds of different coils...

All of this, with some great advice, counseling for staying off analogs and easy local access, along with weekly flash sales from /u/nuclearvapes has completely eliminated any temptation I might have had to go back to any form of tobacco combustion.

I am still a bit shy to vape in public and for that I keep the 2mg nicotine 'mini' lozenges with me at all times when I'm not home, and if I get an inkling for an analog, I pop a lozenge and rest easy that I know when I get home I can fog my room with tasty clouds, which will be so much better than anything an analog will do for me.

I smoked 1-1.5 PAD, on and off for like 30 yrs, tried MANY MANY other methods to quit smoking, and it seems like vaping will be my gateway to becoming completely nicotine free, and eventually vape-free.

Alot of this was motivated by my doctor telling me: "why dont you try an e-cigarette?" combined with my mother going to the hospital on Dec 8, 2015 nearly dead (code blue) due to respiratory failure caused by COPD and emphysema as a result of smoking 2 PAD for 50 yrs.

I'm not going back to analogs, and since she lives with me now (after 2 months in a respiratory rehab facility) and is on oxygen (no she's not smoking, that ended the day she went to the hospital, and they put her on the Nicotine Patch @ 24mg for weeks before stepping her down), having analogs in the house is simple not now nor even in the future going to be an option.

For me, it comes down to a combination of having the 'commitment' to quit smoking, and having a good and enjoyable option for nicotine replacement, that I can taper down, while ALSO having the lung-pressure simulation of smoking, that is REPLACED by vaping. No other solutions offered, prescription or not, offer the lung-pressure and inhale/exhale simulation that vaping does, and for me, that is a big part of it.

Another big part is that I am completely in love with all the flavors of the Reactor Room line of juices that /u/nuclearvapes makes in house that I've tried so far.

Sorry for the wall of text. Maybe some of my process can be of benefit to the OP and others...

You just have to decide how bad you want to quit smoking, and then just replace smoking with vaping.

I told myself when I started vaping that I will do ANYTHING and EVERYTHING possible now to never go back to cigarettes, and so far it's working for me.
