I think you're missing points here. I never said the consumers need to be set free in fact I made that pretty clear; however to put these people behind bars doesn't help anybody. You're not giving the victim retribution by doing so, especially when the attacker is probably still free. Child exploitation material has and will continue to be used as bait to collect on the self control of indisputably mentally Ill people. Even if I agree there is a tangible connection between the consumption of child porn and the rate of child abuse. It doesn't change the fact that we are flooding prisons with mentally Ill and we need to find ways to get people help and way to find the true criminals who rape and film this shit. An actual FBI tactic is to take a known abuse video and re-upload it and follow the seeds. Are we holding our government responsible for the perpetuation of the victims affliction? The system of how we treat mentally ill people is wrong. Prison needs to be reserved for VIOLENT OFFENDERS ONLY. That's the only way we actually fix society. This may be an agree to disagree subject but my whole point is getting people help they deserve and they certainly don't deserve the same sentence as the person who creates the material and SHARES it.
