They are slowly getting rid of WoW. With legion they will reach a climax or even an expansion after that. WoW will soon see its end. The day the servers are shutdown for good is the day i bid a little piece of me goodbye. Blizzcon will never be the same without Metzen. Metzen for me was a key figure in the warcraft universe.
As long as they continue WoW like Legion and improve on it. Things will keep getting better. Alas, no King rules forever...
I don't care what people think of him. A bad writer? Sure. But remember he is a dnd guy. He acts and lives the moment. This guy had a mind so rich of fantasy elements. He made the Orcs look good and bad and good again. He made the undead despicable yet charismatic. He made trolls savage yet intelligent. He even got us playable minotaurs!
Chris Metzen is an inspiration for me. He taught us never to outgrow our youth, our inner geeks. If you see Wow, it is a game. But once you start your first quest, and keep going, you realize that this isn't a game anymore. You, the player, are suddenly a figure in a big dnd world. And the game keeps saying roll the dice... Roll the dice... Roll the dice... Your spells, your abilities define your character.
You just keep rolling the dice and pave your way- shape yourself- become something else! We became champions, heroes and guardians! We were there when Tirion defeated Arthas. We were there when we uncovered Onyxia's disguise and we basically took her family on! We were there when the elements needed our aid, or innocents who were in peril! We were there when Hogger terrorized Elwynn forest! Or when C'thun went to bed with the insects! We stoppedany threats! We are so badass we even went full daredevil to take the legion on in outland, or when we went on a suicide mission to draenor! We were there for the common folk, those who needed our aid and we went for it! Do you remember when we found mankriks wife ( i don't) or when we got called to scout for the army?! It was not always our sharp weapons or minds that did all the work! We have lots to tell, lots to experience.... What I am saying is, this game and metzen offered us a chance to become more...

You keep rolling them dice man, if not life...atleast some of us smiling at you.... And Thrall, my man... You suffered a lot. From slave to warchief, to a husband and father... I would follow you my chief, to the twisting nether and beyond... you deserve your rest and peace... From now on, we will protect azeroth. Lok'tar ogar friend.
