Cleveland, Columbus, Cincinnati have strongest tax abatement/incentive programs. All three have below-standard school districts. Correlation or Causation?

I grew up and went to schools in CSD and the surrounding suburbs.
As a kid, I was pretty much indifferent.
The electives and after-school activities in suburban schools were way better though. Lunch too.
As a parent, I have a hard time rationalizing sending my kids there (CSD) though.

Children having the best parents in the world only takes them so far.
This is a district where children will statistically experience higher frequencies of violence, physical bullying, trauma, self-destruction, etc...
You could tell yourself that your children will be better than that, but the developing mind is an adaptable one.
If they never adapt (or "fit in"), they'll probably develop lifelong insecurities that inhibit their overall potential.

Anecdotally, I can say my friends from CSD grew up with an income of 25-40k. My friends from suburbs (not including Lakewood) are around 45-80k.
We're in our mid-30s now.
Pretty much all my friends come from good parents.
