CMV: Dogs should be kept on a leash in public places

I don't need anybody to know my dog is good, I trained him for myself and so I could enjoy being around him for his whole life.

All somebody will see is some dude walking around with a dog next to him, I'm not showing him off, I'm not taking him places for people to see him, I don't go to dog parks because that's where people take their untrained dogs to run around uncontrolled. And unless somebody directly approaches me they won't have any interaction with myself or my dog.

And yes, I cannot say with 100% certainty he won't ever do anything bad, but I can confidently say it is not even on the list of things I worry about. In my honest opinion people in my neighborhood are more likely to be attacked by a deer or moose than they are to ever have an issue with my dog.
