I think the key to deep masculinity is embracing the reality of the human condition. Which is that we are all small pathetic creatures that deserve sympathy. You need that understanding if you truly wish to rise above for the right reasons. Otherwise what happens is you become the worst kind of small and pathetic. The unaware kind that stands so tall without any kind of solid foundation. We need the solid foundation of smallness and our own pain if we wish to build to something great. Being a man is about building and you can't build without a foundation. A lot of men today have been stripped of their ability to realize their own foundation and so can never build to towards a truly great man.
