This convenience store publicly lists how much they pay their employees.

That dollar raise depends on a perfect evaluation. "Exceeds expectations" in all 33 categories. The raise is strictly (points scored/maximum points) * $1. Absolutely no one gets $1. I was considered extremely valuable and I got only $0.65 the last year I worked there.

I've never heard of a "profitsharing" in addition to gainsharing and I understood the company better than most. Maybe your region does something more than mine did; they're very autonomous. If your gainsharing does especially well they'll simply slash the budget for your team, though, I know that's universal. The VPs are simply under too much pressure from above. In fact, they cut the budget for every team every year by at least 2%. Of all the teams in my region only Whole Body earned even 1/2 as much as they did ten years ago. Meat earned maybe 1/10.

Whole Foods looks good at first and they promise you a lot of shit, but they've been taking things away as fast as they can lately. Raise caps are down, insurance gets worse with every "vote" (funny how you have no power to pick the candidates, you just pick which employees to throw under the bus out of the packages the global HR execs write. some vote.). They don't even pay for the screening for their stupid healthy incentive program anymore; now if you want to stay in the program you have to pay for your own every other year. A program they started to reduce their own contribution to your health insurance and now you have to pay to be in it? Bullshit.

Get out before you wind up with horrible insurance and only $11.96/hr after 3 years of absolutely busting your ass. That's what happened to me. Whole Foods demands the professionalism and dedication of a career white collar employee for only ~40-50% more than the bare legal minimum they could pay anyone in the US. It's a joke and an insult. It's sometimes better than other retail jobs you can get, but it's not a good job at all.
