Could this whole transgender bathroom argument be resolved by just eliminating segregated bathrooms altogether?

I've read so many comments on local articles about this since I do live in NC and while that might be true for some, for most it still seems that they view any trans woman that has not gone full op as being a man, period. They are even ignoring the trans men that would have to go into those women's restrooms even though they would look like any other man if they haven't had their birth certificate changed. You can easily tell from many comments on those same articles that they see transgenderism as completely ridiculous and think that it cannot be defined for the purpose of going to pee. I've also talked with people irl about it and its not hard to change people's minds if they are able to accept that transgender people are valid, but many don't see them as being valid to begin with and that is a huge issue.

And really, if someone is going to molest someone, a sign isn't stopping them as molestation and peeping are already against the law. Also, in the many places that have enacted public accommodation protections for trans people, there have been no issues at all from it. Some have brought up some cases, one being from Canada and some others that involved men going into restrooms to take pics or whatever, but most of that was in places that lacked protections for trans people. Also, they may have been a case or two where people that took issue with the whole trans thing has tried to test it by just going into the restrooms or locker rooms and trying to justify it by claiming they felt like a woman that day, but those are bogus and were handled accordingly.

They are also ignoring the fact that little boys can be molested in the men's rooms as well. I think the key thing is that anyone has a young child, they really shouldn't go to any public restroom unattended and most parents abide by that.
