Scientists: 'Look, One-Third Of The Human Race Has To Die For Civilization To Be Sustainable, So How Do We Want To Do This?'

I really doubt it would happen voluntarily like the article puts it. I have had a strong feeling that a big percentage of the population is going to be killed sometime in the next few decades though. It makes more sense to me that we are heading in that direction than one where most of the ~8 billion people are working less hours because advances in technology allows it, and that people with the most power would keep ignoring the impact that an additional 7 billion people gained in ~100 years has on the world. The fact that we aren't doing nearly enough right now to lessen the negative impact we have on the natural world and looking at the current state of the world sends up red flags for me.
