COVID-19 Border / Visa Restrictions Thread - Omicron/January Edition

(i'm canadian) In phone calls with Japanese immigration and a call to the Japanese embassy in Canada, it seems the best course of action is for me to enter the country as a tourist, get married, and then apply for a spousal visa. Which is fine, except for these covid restrictions that prevent me from entering as a tourist which look like they may continue going on for a long time.

Does anyone know if theres any loophole to get into the country as a tourist, or if theres any way to apply for an exception due to personal circumstances? I know it's probably a stretch but looking at updates on the news i don't even know if the borders will open this year.
