I don't think this person is talking about skin color but rather features, and that might be harder for some people to see or understand

I think this is really cool art, but yeah, I saw Garnet's face and something looked very caucasian, oddly enough (not skin color). She looks Scandinavian or something? Or maybe if you said she was East or North African, I could buy that...

I'm saying this as a white as hell passing half Jamaican, y'all. So I mean, I'm pretty damn white but somehow have "blacker" features than this Maybe it's the nose? Idk and I don't really care much. I'm just trying to explain where some people are coming from. I called my white SO over and asked him his thoughts without any prompting, and it was the first thing he said ("She looks like my sister, whoa." lol)

But all of that aside, you're totally right that there needs to be some discretion for artistic license or whatever. This is their vision, not mine or anyone else's, and I always love seeing what people come up with.
