CS starting salary 2023? (Emotional post)

The average new grad is definitely living in either Toronto/Ottawa/Waterloo/Vancouver. Of course if you count cities like Kingston and Guelph, the local companies there pay lower. I did a quick search of companies in those area and they're ones I've never heard of before, I doubt the average CS grad who gets decent grades and have decent ECs are going to be the ones working at those companies -- I'd say those local cities are usually reserved for below-average CS grads go to who can't find jobs in big cities or want to stay home closer to friends.
Anecdotally speaking, I had many friends who were very average (70s average, did no ECs, no Leetcode, did no internships or maybe just 1 at a local company, and went to an average CS school), and most of them were able to find jobs at big Toronto companies based off one interview where it was all behavioral based.
Now we can look into statistical data too on levels.fyi, where if you filter by new grads in Canada, you can see that most companies(small and big), pay atleast 75k starting in the most recent data.
