Dear redditors, what's the furthest someone you know, has dug themselves into and continued to lie?

This came to mind when reading the response from another redditor:

So went on a school trip- one whole week at a ski resort on the alps. I was 12 at the time. So first day we got asked whether we could ski and if so how well, so me being an absolute dumbass, to impress the other students was like "Dude I've being skiing since I was a child" even though I only had a couple lessons when I was 6. So the instructor immediately brings us on the top of the fucking mountain and I start to shit my pants. Again had to make sure people didn't know I was a pussy so I went down. Start picking up speed and I got so scared I threw myself on the floor.

Faked getting hurt and I had the paramedics show up on a snowmobile to take me back to camp. Of course I had to keep the tough guy act up and ended up taking an injury the entire week...

TL;DR Went skiing with school, faked injury because could not admit I was scared, got saved by the paramedics on a snowmobile and ended up wasting an entire week of fun.
