I’ve lived here 10.5 years but I often think about moving, frankly. I stay because my income to cost of living ratio here would be hard to match elsewhere. I was born and raised in FL but after living several years in places with 4 distinct seasons, the 6-7 month summers feel oppressive (winter here is my favorite season). I like ethnic food but most of the restaurant choices here seem heavily modified for Western tastes. And when traveling I envy my friends/family who have direct flights and don’t sit at Charlotte or Dallas for hours because the flight to Tallahassee is delayed again.

I suppose there are some positives to living here like the short commutes and reasonably good cost of living. But I never bought a house even when they were cheap, because I always think I’ll be moving the next year.
