Was around 7 or 8 at Mardigras parade with my parents in early 90s. I remember this real well because John Stamos was on one of the floats throwing out beads. I must have wandered off slightly following it to catch them and ended up lost from my parents. There was a middle aged coulple that saw I was scared and lost and came up to me asking if I was alone. I told him my parents were here but they knew I was separated. The woman pulled me by the hand into her and wrapped her arm around me tightly and said you can come home with us. I freaked out and wiggled my way free and ran into the middle of the parade and a police officer saw me and came to me. I looked where the couple was and they were gone. The cop found my parents eventually but that really stuck with me most of my life. I probably avoided something really bad.
