My wife and I were unable to conceive for 10 years. She had been told by a doctor earlier in life that she likely never would be able to. We desperately wanted to have children. During this time period we were baptized and received into the Orthodox Church. We struggled and prayed about it for a few years after baptism. Finally in 2019 my wife received Holy Unction. She became extremely ill for a few months immediately after. She was having major digestive and menstrual issues. She could barely eat. She saw a number of doctors and had a battery of tests performed during this time, but no one could nail down the cause or offer any real remedy.

After several months, the issues resolved themselves and ceased as suddenly as they came on. Some weeks after that, she suspected she might be pregnant. She surprised me with the positive test on Christmas of 2019 and we were blessed with our first baby, thank God!
