Dems and Republicans: anyone except my candidate is a plague on the nation and should be exiled, they represent everything wrong with politics currently.

Hm ok, so what is your candidate?

Republicans: Whoever wins the primary.

Democrats: This one guy whose narrow ideology maps just right onto my own.

Might be a lukewarm take around here, but it seems obvious that the 'polarization of politics' that gets talked about runs a lot deeper than just Left/Right. And it's not like this sub is entirely immune to this tendency either. From Bernie/AOC through to Mittens I am capable of taking a step back and respecting their views. But that seems to be shrinking, which I don't like, and I have no idea what to do about.
