[Discussion] What is your impressions about Spring's Anime 2015 after 3 episode ?

Hibike! Euphonium

Never seen a KyoAni series before, because they don't really appeal to me. I decided this would be my first try because I wanted to join discussions and the premise was semi-relatable to me. So far, it's alright. It's nice to look at, the direction is competent, and none of the characters have annoyed me yet. There's really not much to say, because it's slow with very little going on. It's not grabbing me in any way, but I wouldn't tell someone not to watch it. I'm expecting it to be a 7/10 for me.

I haven't seen the 4th episode yet, so I'll be doing that right after I make this comment.

Houkago no Pleiades

Only reason I'm watching this is I intend to watch every Gainax show at some point. This show is pretty bad in almost every single way. It's generic with a stupid shill premise, and it doesn't seem to know how to make episodes work. It's like scenes were cut, it's so jarring. The conflicts with the baddie are stupid as all get out, normally being a cycle of him throwing some dodgeballs at them and taking the star easy-peasy. But in the last episode, they started setting up some shit that could honestly turn out to be very interesting. If they go through with it, it will all be worthwhile. I think because I had such low expectations for the show, it's managed to charm me a little bit. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone, though.

Kekkai Sensen

I don't understand people praising the style. Its style is inconsistent. It's just poorly directed. Otherwise, it's fine, I guess. It's cool enough to be entertaining, so I'll stick around, but I really expect nothing from this show, because thus far the episodes have left little to no impression on me.

Plastic Memories

Extremely transparent show. The on-the-nose emotional manipulation winds up annoying me more than making me cry. So far a lot of its premises don't make sense with what's going on, at least not to me. But they do seem to be addressing it a little, so we'll see. But the characters, the comedy, the focus of the show, they're all bland to annoying for me.

Punchline

What a stupid show. The MC is the dumbest motherfucker ever. He hasn't even attempted what right now looks like the obvious solution and he's just there to be a camera for the audience so that we have a reason to see all the unfunny shenanigans of the female cast members. The only thing it's got going for it thus far is that it is generally nice to look at. Nothing too interesting, but still solid animation. It just makes me sad to see the original anime this season rely on such stupid gimmicks at the expense of their honestly intriguing premises. Again, I guess we'll just see where it goes. We're at the point where they can definitely still turn it around.
