Dodgers, W H Y

Maybe. I have a friend who follows the melee community and he told me he's seenta lot of smashers hitting into strive and it got me thinking about what would appeal to smash players. Being that I myself started in that community and me and guilty gear was love at 1st sight, I started comparing the games. I've found that when you stop away the stages, health card, and boat zones and just look at the way the game works they're actually not that dissimilar.

So things they gave in common

  • Both are super hype. everything is geared toward looking cool, feeling cool and pulling off cool shit in clutch moments. This makes them super fun to watch and adrenaline pumping to play.

  • Both games tend to favor offense. Even "defensive" characters are designed not to slow the battle down but to completely reverse the tide and launch your own offensive.

  • the combos are super flexible. In. Both games you tend to have your bread and butter combos that typically work when used appropriately but because of the gimmicky and chaotic nature of the roster and combo mechanics you often find yourself in scenarios where you have to make shit up on the fly and just know the game and that often makes for the sickest moments.
