Does anyone else feel like we're stuck in the middle between extremists from both sides who have used social media to increase the effect of their voices and beliefs, who don't care to reason, and will never come to terms with each other?

I have no political camp to belong to anymore, just an understanding of who I DISLIKE LESS currently. I'm happy to be poached though if anyone can give me a good enough reason.

I'm by no means a natural ally to the Trumps of the world and am dubious of both nationalism and nativism in many ways, but I'm also stridently opposed to moral panics having seen them on all sides of the political isle in my not-so-long lifetime.

The 'left' currently provides no unifying ideology to rally behind given that the Democratic Party promotes neither a true egalitarian view of the world or true economic fairness of the kind required. The 'right' is much worse in many respects as I see it and not much better in terms of providing a unifying ideology.

The 'alt-right' as people have taken to calling it which is represented most notably by Trump has uncertain outcomes and its only real rallying cry is seemingly an opposition to the moral panics promoted by the 'left', but I'm increasingly coming down "on their side" because that's still more than either party's establishment has offered in awhile and it clearly scares the shit out of a significant portion of both of them.
