Does anyone else find it impossible to trust people, that there aren't actually any good people in the world, and that there's no hope?

"..decided to do whatever I can to be independent, like save as much money as possible, learn how to drive, and learn a skill I could freelance with in case I ever lose my job just so that I can never again be in a position when I have to rely on someone else."

I've been working on this the past 9 years, and it's been great. Especially having money helps a lot. I wouldn't say I'm rich, but I can solve almost any problem that would come my way. You have to be careful though, some people think rich people are arrogant, but it's mostly that with money you just don't feel beholden to anyone, that disturbs people that are used to being an authority. I always remind myself to be as cooperative as reasonably possible and to sometimes play the game as it needs to be played for the least resistance.
