So... here is a slightly different perspective.

My fiancé at the time of law school did not get the time commitment. Except he was a partner at a law firm and I had told him not to propose and he still did. Of course he understood the time commitment. I was working full time while going at night time too!

The truth may be that it’s not that they don’t get it... but sort of like when people are weirdly jealous when you start working out/losing weight they may not want you to better yourself so it manifests in a “I don’t get you have to study.”

I’m merely suggesting it may be more than not getting it.

I broke off the engagement... 12/10 would do again.
