Does anyone in this group make $30-$35k a year and pay $500 a month for their car?

I had the option to pay for it in cash but there was a $2,000 incentive so I financed, shortest term with the lowest amount. I think it was about $9k for 12 months.

So you wouldn't finance even with a $2,000 incentive? That'd be your decision, not mine to make.

I haven't had to pay anything for my house maintenance, but you're probably right, something will happen in the future and I have the savings. I paid quite a bit three or four years ago on all of them so they're all in great shape. That was before I retired though.

The $24k didn't include my current investment, I haven't cashed them out so it's still $24k according to my taxes. If I needed the money, I'll cash them out but don't see a reason now.

I don't think you're seeing the bigger picture.
