Don't look before changing lanes, and brake as they do it!

Well we have a street like this. Right lane is generally people turning in and out of driveways or to/from streets or really slow trucks or cars. Left lane is usually people heading to a left turn up ahead or someone who recently turned left onto the road. Middle is for unobstructed through traffic. It's not rocket science. Usually there are so many cars on the road you're an idiot if you stayed right an then tried to make your way across 3 lanes to your left in under a 1/4 mile. We are actually taught to get over early to the lane you need to be in and not wait.

On a street like this it's a 45MPH speed limit so there's not going to be any passing unless it's to go past someone slow or turning on the right. And the idea that you can drive on the right is ridiculous because there isn't enough room for all of the cars in the right lane.

But then there are rural areas and there are highways and freeways. Inner city freeways have similar challenges but you keep to the right lanes as much as possible anyway but out of cities are quite simply the drive on the right rule. And let's not even get started on left hand exits and HOV lanes.

So in a video like this on a street like this where people say you shouldn't be in the left lane just don't understand the driving culture of a city street like this. You get in the lane you eventually need to be in and don't change lanes unnecessarily.

I understand traffic was really light in this video so my excuses don't necessarily apply, but you don't drive differently with or without traffic because that often changes without notice.
