I don't get this take. I've seen every Dave Chapelle transgender joke. they aren't even transphobic... at least not more than any well meaning cis person who accidentally misgenders you, awkwardly apologizes, citing something about how their uncle/aunt is trans and maybe you know them (ignorant, but not hateful in any way shape or form) They are funny jokes, and quite honestly take an incredibly small fraction of his joke time. I won't go into why he is a legendary comedian, because comedy is subjective... if you don't like him, that's fine. But you can't deny millions of people saying he is the greatest of all time... they aren't 'fucking idiots' he has the IT factor. He has a certain je ne sais quoi; Seinfeld, Schumer and Kevin Hart are great and hard working funny people. But Chapelle is like a comedy savant...I don't even watch him, it's not my cup of tea, but I can see objectively why he is so beloved. as a trans person, I feel ZERO hateful intentions watching him perform. He's not the problem here... Also, Kevin Hart said he was gonna hit his kid over the head with a dollhouse if he was gay, so where do we draw the line ? The job description of comedian doesn't take marginalized group's feelings into account, nor has it ever. We can't expect them to do that for us now! I respect him for not shying away from the topic, and instead simply doing his job to the best of his ability. I don't care, down vote me to shit, DAVE CHAPELLE IS NOT TRANSPHOBIC. Neither is Joe Rogan, while I'm here getting downvoted... I've listened to every Rogan podcast with trans related issues , guests ....all the ones being called 'transphobic' these are not hateful people. They simply want to understand , and talk about it. They are living their lives just like us, and we cannot stoop down to the lowest of the low, dehumanizing any cis person who doesn't 100% agree with our gender ideology. It's just tacky, and it gives the people who really hate us more ammo to shoot us with.
