Ehhh... Idk about that. I think that's just talk to make it easier to handle that type of situation. If you are imprisoned, you are not truly free mentally... No matter what you do. Your mind is still restricted... And even though restricted, it can wander. But it is still ultimately repressed. You are free to think... That does not mean your mind can be or is in any way free though. Still constrained through what you are physically limited to. If youre confined in a dungeon and tortured, your mind cannot be free to go experience the rush of sex or something. You can THINK about it, BUT youre mind is still trapped, andeventually the mind succumbs to the physical reality.

I personally believe that free state of mind thing is crazy. Its like saying we live in a country that's free to do what we want. I cannot go out and expressly try to experience all the constitutional rights w/o the worry that i could be arrested or worse. Everyone watches what they say. So, we are not free minded, we are free to think what is in the accepted confines of our physical reality, and our brains say, okay, let's make the best of this shitty situation.

So maybe free to think, but physical impacts mental no matter what. Try being locked away a while, and see how free your mind is after the day to day bs you hafta think about and exp. Youd see what i mean.

Although, it is a nice idea, that's just making the word freedom relate to the word oblivious... Bc you are thinking you are free, but still mentally limited in the possibilities. It always takes a toll. But our brains have the amazing ability of shutting out the bad and reorganizing itself to be comfortable in w/e situation it is put into.
