I would respond to that thread, but I think its pretty dead...

Anyway:

Let me speak frankly on this - and this is coming from someone that has not read nor has interest in reading said fanfic - I don't agree with Randy Pitchford being offended by a clearly satirical fanfic of him as the antagonist and being killed. You're a public figure, you're going to be criticized in all types of manner. Its part of the job as CEO and mouthpiece of your company. If it is not to your liking, step down, take the pay cut, and go do something else. The fanfic is most likely in poor taste, but I hardly feel sorry for Randy.

Now, with that being said, I believe it speaks volumes on Anita's character. While I understand that she did not write said fanfic, she did however endorse it. This poses a problem on two fronts:

--- On Narcissism

I would be willing to bet that she endorsed such a piece because it featured her as a protagonist; she had little concern who the antagonist was (Aside: If she did, that would pose a bigger question - Why does she hate Pitchford, who has been a strong supporter). This being the case, it is fucking narcissistic and borderline psychopathic behavior. She was more driven by the pride to be featured as a protagonist than the empathy towards a supporter of her aGGro agenda. And I'm not throwing psychopath around as a buzz word - Psychopaths, as defined by the Society for the Study of Psychopathy, exhibit the following traits:

• Lack of guilt/remorse
• Lack of empathy
• Lack of deep emotional attachments
• Narcissism
• Dishonesty
• Manipulativeness

So when I say psychopath, I mean it in a clinical sense.

--- On Hypocrisy

Just because I believe that sort of fanfic has every right to exist, doesn't mean I can't criticize Anita's support for it. According to her, things such as this would constitute as bullying. What must be good for one, must be good for all - So any criticism of Sark or her opinions must be met with equally open mindedness.

As we have seen, even in the past few days, this is not the case. Sargon attended her panel and she called him a "shithead... garbage human being" simply because he creates videos that criticize her opinion. He even invited her to a forum, a platform to rebut his claims. She refused.

So, in wrapping up: The fanfic is fine, Randy is being a bitch. However, Sark is being a hypocrite by not criticizing it. Oh, and she is fine selling out her strongest supporters as long as it feeds her narcissism.
