Is it dumb to decline a job at a firm just because it seems like people of my demographic don’t stay there long?

In regards to the buyout from the large ibank: 1. Usually shared services are the first to get cut… hr, marketing, legal, sales, etc. 2. The Crown Jewels, often the investment team of profitable strategies, tend to be safe. 3. Buyout could lead to a liquidity event for senior members, and they could be expecting that sr members would retire so they could need junior members to pickup the slack.

As an Asian American myself, I do think people view Asians as folks that do the work and won’t complain. Most people who do a career jump into the FO, won’t dare to mess up that opportunity, unless they are in-demand. Essentially people want asians to shut up, do the work, and not cause any trouble even when trouble is brewing because it’s their shot.
