ELI5: Why the male suicide rate is about four times that of the female.

Unfortunately a lot of this connects to the discussion of "rape culture", "wage gap", avoiding judgment, and "be a man" attitudes/controversies/societal norms in today's world. I'll do my best to explain this quickly without taking a side but feel free to critique me. On one side, many feel that men take longer work hours, tougher and more demanding jobs which impair self esteem and personal freedom to enjoy life. This is often because they undertake the position of the "money-earner" at home, which figures into the wage gap. Many people feel that women are paid less than men to do the same amount of work (Based on figures that a 5 year old need not understand such as earnings vs wages, financial benefits, maternity leave, etc). The opposing side of belief feels that the wage gap is untrue due to these circumstances and thus men work more hours/worse shifts/tougher jobs etc. Furthermore, "rape culture" is brought up as a popular issue in young cultures bc men do not treat women the way that some people feel is respectable and so on and so forth, so the idea that rape is promoted/tolerated in certain institutions brings this up. More and more of these ideas figuratively push men down and exert pressure on them because one side argues "Do not allow yourself to be judged", "the world cannot determine who you are", "be yourself" mentality, while another promotes "be a man", "stop whining", and "prove why men are "better" than women". This conundrum of pressures and beliefs pushes many men to believe that there is no way out of these conflicting ideologies, and unfortunately suicides follow soon after. Further to this point, many of the beliefs listed above, although opposing each other, are often in response to opinions that mental health is a more common/prevalent issue in men than it is with women, which I think (not sure) has been proven incorrect.
