Ents, what is your most interesting cop story?

This is a bit of an interesting story and a bit of a "don't be stupid like I was" kind of story... My friends and I were taking a road trip down to VA beach when we stopped at a small rest stop at around lunch time. We eat and one of us decides to light a spliff. I'm not a big fan of the idea, but go along with it because I don't want to be that guy... We're standing by the car with cigs and one spliff going when a Dodge Caravan pulls up to block our exit and two detectives get on out. We're promptly searched, arrested, and taken to the State Police station for processing. Things ended up going fine in the long run thanks to diversionary sentencing, but it was pretty damn terrifying. No convictions for any of us, but plenty of fines. We were really worried about my friend who had acid, but her charges were luckily dismissed.

Lessons: -Don't ever smoke in public in a crim state. stupid stupid stupid. 95 is a major drug pipeline and we should have known the fuck better.
-It's super awkward to sit in a parking lot handcuffed as people lead there kids to grab lunch. -Anyone can get busted that breaks the law (especially stupidly). It CAN happen to you. I'm a pretty straight-laced dude, good student, etc. Few people I know even know this ever occurred -Life goes on. Breathe. If bad shit happens you can get through it. The most important thing is to make the best of where you are.
-ALWAYS go in with a lawyer -And the biggest one... Know your rights. Don't be rude or combative, but don't freely give up information either. My friend kind of did this out of fear and it led to my other friend getting searched (and charged with felony possession) when she would have been let go. -If you're in a crim state consider it "enemy territory" as far as weed goes. Cops care and they WILL go after you for it.

TL;DR: Got busted once and almost deserved it for how stupid we were when it happened. Life goes on, but it's all preventable.
