Taking advantage of the Corona Virus outbreak the current Greek government financed pretty much every media outlet available.

They created huge advertising campaigns for staying at home or for getting the shot but they paid the media outlets a different sum based on which was more friendly to government policies. That means that pro-government outlets got completely disproportionate amounts of money. This led any and all independent or moderate outlets to change their attitude to a pro-government attitude so they don't get excluded by the next stimulus. Pretty much the only outlets left with a critical stance against the government are the various opposition affiliated media.

On top of that they gifted millions of Euros to nation-wide channels that are being run by Greek oligarchs as "compensation measures for COVID impacted losses".

The extent of all these actions has created a huge and hugely disproportionate pro-government media presence.
