Pettiest reason you got in trouble at school?

For being friendly with the new kid in class.

So my group of friends had been together since daycare and we'd gone through preschool and elementary school together. So we got to 7th grade, spent a few months there and then got a new kid to class. This new kid wasn't actually that new, he'd been with us on first grade but they moved and swapped elementary schools.

We took the (not) new kid to our group immediately. The group was always a bit rough with each other and we'd constantly push each other around and just do all the stupid teen boy stuff you'd imagine. But apparently the new kid didn't like it. So instead of telling us he wasn't happy about it, he'd gone to the teachers.

Immediately there was a huge shitshow about all of it. All parents called in, principal and several teachers etc. But the new kid had decided not to come to the meeting.

So we spent an hour arguing as a group against all our teachers and the principal about it. Even our parents chimed in and confirmed that what we did is how we've been since forever. But no, we're nasty little cretins bullying the new kid and need to be punished. The principal went even as far as to say he'd ban us from treating each other that way.

Suffice to say, new kid didn't really have a good time in school after all this was over, he'd lost the only group in our class who wanted anything to do with him and teen boys being teen boys we didn't make it easy for him either.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, my reports of being physically and verbally abused by an actual group of bullies went to deaf ears all through my time in school, despite having my elementary school teacher making a point that it had been going on for many years at that point.

Maybe not a shocker, but in this story can you guess who was the embodiment of a perfect student and who was the kid who "forgot" to do his homework?
