Have you ever been stalked or felt like being stalked by someone? What happened and what did you do about it?

Once, while in the military, a fellow Marine I was friends with on Facebook used what unit I was in to find the specific barracks we occupied, then went to every one of them and read all the little placards on the window until he found the room I was staying in. My door was unlocked, which I guess was my mistake and I never made it again, so he used it as an excuse to let himself in.

He had all these gifts for me and he refused to leave. This dude was like six feet tall, and myself being much smaller than that didn't want to fight him and so texted some guys who lived near me to have him removed. Afterwards, the SgtMaj allowed us to remove our placards if we felt unsafe, but it was kind of a chaotic mess and didn't last long.

I also had a Marine pull my phone number off a recall roster and text me death threats because I ignored him. I think he received some kind of punishment, though not an NJP.

Another time, one of the guys in my shop got cheated on and I told him not to take the girl back, so she hired people to stalk me. She knew the make, model, and license plate of my car as soon as I bought it despite me not going anywhere near her, and would text her ex with my location frequently (including a night I went to Wendy's at one in the morning, which was creepy to say the least). I wound up getting a no contact order on her after a few weeks of that.

Now I'm a regular civilian and I have a peaceful, stalker free life with my husband and baby, so I'd say I'm doing pretty well, but I take a decent amount of care when it comes to maintaining my privacy.
