The "Evil" Plan Has Succeeded: the Younger Generation Wants Electric Cars

I really wish I could answer your questions, I really do. However, honestly, I had a run in with a particular group of nasty trolls that harassed me and my family IRL in the past on Reddit (I used to be moderator of some larger subreddits).

So unfortunately I'm not comfortable giving out any personal information.

What I can answer is:

  • Better paying jobs are usually in the city. If you and wife work you can easily make well over 6 figures.

  • There's a lot more stuff do, for you, and the kids

  • Condo buildings develop this sort of interconnected community that's kind of great. You'll never be without a baby sitter (downside is random kids will be at your house constantly). Also the networking from an adult perspective is awesome.

  • You save on things like gym memberships, internet, cable, heating and air since those things are typically provided for "free". Obviously subsidized through association fees, but the cost lower because it's negotiated on a large level.

  • Obvious benefits like hundreds of restaurants and shopping options are usually right out your front door and walking distance.

  • Obvious benefits like being only a 10 minute walk/bike to work.

  • Transportation costs are much lower. We only have one car instead of two. Maybe purchase fuel once a month and the car is paid off. We spend roughly $60.00 a month on fuel.

And biggest reason for me, is more ideological than economics. Your looking at this from an economic perspective only. However, environmentally I like knowing my carbon footprint is very small. And that is a huge reason I advocate live smaller and denser.
