'Explosion' of above guideline rent increases pricing out some Toronto tenants, advocates say

I had an issue with illegal entries last year. The third occurrence was October 2021, after politely asking them to stop the first and second times.

Finally I got frustrated and filed a T2 application with LTB. Thankfully it has only happened once since then; but they haven’t even scheduled a hearing date, never mind made a decision. What if they were still doing it regularly? What other recourse do I have as a tenant? I don’t like the idea someone feels entitled enough to just walk in my place, for a non-emergency inspection with no notice. I just decided to move out.

Police don’t care, nor should they be necessary. The LTB is an absolute joke. What about people who can’t afford to move to a different place?
