I shoot competitively, and am friends with some very, very good shooters (think, corporate sponsored 3gun and IPSC type people). My plan for anybody who pulls something like that with my son is to invite the other dad out for a range trip or a local shooting match. If he's a good dude who was messing around, he'll have a great time, and we'll all be friends. If he's a shithead who happens to own a shotgun, hopefully he will see that he is very, very badly outclassed, and will leave his toys in the closet in the future.

Either way, being raised around that, I doubt the boy will be impressed with what most people keep under their beds. Hopefully he'll be polite enough to act interested in the stock Mossberg being cleaned on the kitchen table, or have the presence of mind to go full passive aggressive soccer mom on him.

I like to run them really light for 9mm, but you really have to make sure you change them out every couple thousand rounds, and it does suck having to remember to put in new ones every two weeks.
