Ex christian/agnostic, looking for advice...

There is absolutely no reason to be a Christian my friend. There is not a shred of verifiable evidence that any of it is real and/or correct. The Bible was written by those who had never even met Jesus, and manipulated to the point that it's very different from the original Bible.

If god is real, then why does he demand you believe and worship him without evidence. Why give you this amazing mind and then tell you not to use it for fear of being labeled a skeptic, heretic, or blasphemer? Why give you a sex drive and then tell you not to use it? Why be so blood thirsty, hateful, and contradictory in the Old Testament, and then say everything has changed in the New Testament and it's about peace and love now?

Why send your creation to eternal damnation in the most terrifying place imaginable just because they didn't believe you were real (and not provide the evidence either), but then tell you he loves you unconditionally?

The whole thing, as with 99% of all religion, is it demands that you don't question because the religion doesn't want you to see behind the curtain. If people start asking questions, then the whole thing falls apart. That's why they used to burn and murder blasphemers and heretics (and in some part of the world they still do). Does that sound like a great and loving god to you?

Enjoy this one life that you have, it's all that you got as far as we know, so don't waste your time with nonsense that would ask you to make life harder than it already is.
