The FCC is expected to announce a vote to gut net neutrality rules the day before Thanksgiving. Only a big burst of phone calls to Congress can stop them from allowing ISPs to charge us extra fees to access sites, apps, games, and especially the music we all love.

Here is an example of a letter sent to Georgia Senator Johnny Isakson (R).

Mr. Isakson,

Within a month, the Federal Communications Commission is set to release guidelines regarding the regulation of the internet. I anticipate that you will be allowing this to go forward giving the fact that you believe that getting rid of net neutrality is “pro-business”. It is not. It is anti-business, across the board because it empowers internet providers to throttle users, from consumers to business owners large and small. Many people operate businesses out of marketplaces such as eBay, Amazon, etc. With paywalls and throttled speeds from internet providers, these companies cannot operate and thousands of businesses will fail and jobs across the country, including Georgia will close. UPS will lose thousands in revenue from shipping packages and it will reflect in Georgia’s labor market.

Also, it will mean that private internet companies can effectively censor you, your supporters, and the like should your platform be against business interests. Imagine that suddenly the Democrats have the platform to effectively censor you by persuading companies to go against the interests of you, your party, and the grassroots organizations that support you. This is what’s at stake.

The choice is yours. Keep net neutrality.

Feel free to use this format for phone calls, emails, letters, screaming at them on the street, etc.
