I agree, you should try and stand up to whomever is forcing this upon your department and the rest of the authorities. But that doesn't make the officers bad because they're being forced to do something. They're bad because they want to do that something, and that something is hurting minorities.

And I agree, they're not being forced at gunpoint, but with what's going on now, anything is possible. How do you know that certain departments won't retaliate for officers quitting or transferring? I'm not saying it happens or it doesn't, but it can happen.

And getting another job doesn't just work in an instant. It takes time. So yes, "I need a job" isn't necessarily a valid excuse, it does take time to find one.
