The first four episodes of Game Of Thrones Season have been leaked. Some users in /r/asoiaf do not like the mods decision to censor all discussion. Mods are all down voted.

It's genuinely amusing that you called my comment a straw man, then proceeded to misquote me by leaving out the second part of that sentence. So ... ok.

I did not misquote you. Quoting the relevant part of a comment is not "misquoting"; if it was, you would have just now misquoted me.

There were two elements to your comment. (1) Users were asking the sub to change its policy about links to pirated materials, and (2) users were asking to discuss pirated materials.

The first part of your comment is not accurate. It is a straw man. Hence, I identified it, and only it, as a straw man. To claim that the second part was a straw man would be dishonest, so I did not make any such claim.

It is not genuinely amusing that you respond to me by claiming that I misquoted you. It is upsetting, because you seem to want to be dishonest.

It seems to me that you think the sporadic leaks of photos and tidbits of information are equivalent to the leak of four full episodes.

Once more, you are not a member of the subreddit, so I understand why you would not be aware of what I am talking about. Let me explain: the mod team was not allowing sporadic leaks and tidbits of information. The mod team allowed people who had seen the episodes to give away major plot points and answer any questions that were asked of them. When users complained that these plot points were being posted in "Spoilers All" threads, the mods told them "Too bad, untagged leaks are allowed. Deal with it or don't read the threads."

honest-to-God, eye-rollingly ridiculous to look at a person who changes their mind and decides to pursue a course of action they believe is better than the one they had before and say, "hypocrite."

I am not an expert on "honest-to-God, eye-rollingly ridiculous" behavior, so I'll have to take your word on it, since some of the things you say make me think you might have some intimate familiarity with eye-rolling ridiculousness. But I do not see how comparing present policy with the former policy posted just a few days ago is not hypocrisy; after all, given how time works, all hypocrisy has to be judged against past actions, no?

It is hypocrisy to say "Screw you guys, all of you have to read leaks if you want to participate on this sub" one day and then say "We're deleting anything we think might even be a leak" the next.

a well-intentioned mistake!

I hope that you can stop rolling your eyes for just a moment to see how users might be justified in being upset that moderators are deleting discussion/speculation posts in a subreddit dedicated to speculating about the books just on the suspicion that they might be spoiling something.
