Thanks for taking the time to read and respond. Your comment about lifestyle compatibility definitely hit home. Like what you described, I don't drink and don't like the party scene either but I can tolerate it a few times a month. He's great in a lot of ways and I know it's impossible to find someone that checks all the criteria. He's perfect for me except when it comes to the smoking/drinking/partying habits. My comment about not being a priority on his list stems from the fact that this isn't the first time he gets distracted after having agreed to meet up or something. Usually it's drinks with buddies, falls asleep after saying he'd come to spend the night with me, gets too busy at work and forgets we had plans for lunch and not even giving me a heads-up about it.
