I’d recommend using the Edinburgh Council Trusted Traders list. Wait times may be long but worth it to get someone good and honest.

Bathrooms: Allied are excellent. We also used them for boiler repair and fitting a couple of radiators. Painter/decorators: Bert’s are excellent. We had cheaper quotes but these guys know what they’re doing. Electrics: ECEC. Joinery: we only used them for small jobs around the kitchen (making shelves, fitting skirting boards) but can recommend Elliot at Malbet. Carpets: Tapi did a great job for us. (I think some users on here take issue with them though).

We had a hellish time with a company called Insurepair. Definitely avoid.
