Food for Thought

I kinda agree with your first and last points, but I think you're a bit off with the second.

The infamy update is generally seen as unsatisfying and "half-assed". When Overkill released this infamy update that had to ensure that it wasn't game-breaking or to much of a grind. Now many of the community members would argue that it is currently too much of a grind, but Infamy has always been about supplying an end game, or something to keep players entertained upon completing the game. Overkill will always have the chance to go back and add more content to the Infamy system when they aren't so busy.

I completely agree with this:

Overkill will always have the chance to go back and add more content to the Infamy system when they aren't so busy.

I even feel like Overkill leaned on this crutch when making the Infamy 2.0. I feel like they rushed out this update now knowing they can change it if the community gave them a shitty response.

I'll start my disagreement here though:

When Overkill released this infamy update that had to ensure that it wasn't game-breaking or to much of a grind.

I don't understand this logic at all. This is a PvE environment and we are practically gods already. Ce can destroy eave after wave after wave of cops. By the time a typicall heister gets to I-100 they are experienced enough to take on the worst of the worst that the game can offer. If something fucking ridiculously OP came out it wouldn't break the game for anyone. Hell, we just got RPGs... As a secondary. It can destroy anything in it's path IN ONE HIT, and it's caused nothing but retarded fun for my friends and I.

I think it boils down to this: In a PvE environment where the characters/players are already broken as shit there isn't the excuse of "they couldn't give the most experienced players any new benefits because that would break the game".

My next point will be over:

The infamy update is generally seen as unsatisfying and "half-assed".

The update seems extremely half assed for something that supposedly took 6 months for something MORE than what we got.

I'm referring to Almir's post about giving us more than masks and then just giving us masks. There's nothing about that that isn't half assed in my opinion.

My final point will be over:

Now many of the community members would argue that it is currently too much of a grind, but Infamy has always been about supplying an end game, or something to keep players entertained upon completing the game.

Basically my problem is that the new infamy doesn't add anything end of game worthy. Sure the masks are nice and stuff, but they don't help us at all. The first five levels are still the best and once anyone reaches them they are really at the end of game part of PD2. The new infamy doesn't contribute to anything other than cosmetic mods and a boost in xp, those are both not helpful as EOG gear or as a serious reason to keep playing the game.
