For Those of You At 60, Some Class Questions!

Arcanist!

1) Can scholar for instant queues and summoner for soloing, tons of variety, and a VERY high skill ceiling that keeps the jobs interesting.

2) For Summoner, how badly they suck at dealing with low hp adds. By the time you do any meaningful damage to a butterfly in Ravana it needs to be dead already.

For scholar, the fairy seems to be bugged, and feels a lot weaker than before.

3) Mostly underwhelming, but if Enkindle + Deathflare ain't the tightest shit you've ever seen then get out of my face.

4) Right now the Summoner rotation feels overwhelming; there's a ton of things to keep track of, but I'm sure that it'll shift into the 'just right' category as I become more accustomed to it.

Scholars have less of a rotation, but the new spells open up a world of possibilities and it's really fun to adapt and think about how to use then best. Definitely in the 'just right' for me right now.

5) Arcanist got some huuuuuuuuuge buffs this patch that probably need to be looked at. Spell speed affecting DoT spells was a massive buff, especially with their pet crit giving them even more spellspeed. Bane now has no target limit (50% reduced after 4th) so their AoE doesn't suffer in larger pulls. Couple that with a plethora of great new spells and you've got yourself a winner.

Scholars got some big-time AoE healing/mitigation power with emergency tactics, indomitability, and even deployment tactics, and while they can't compete with White Mages in that department, they are much more well rounded and can support a party without issue. Broil adds a 170 potency spammer in addition to their DoTs, massively improving their already renowned damage output.

Summoners can now keep up with other classes in single target situations, and blow every other class out of the water in AoE scenarios. It's absolutely disgusting how powerful they are right now. The original AoE kings had a lot of their power taken away, but Summoners just got even more. Unlimited targets on bane, 2 minutes less on Enkindle, a 200 potency AoE off-gcd every 10 seconds and a 400 potency one on a 30 second cooldown (and 1 minute thereafter) just obliterate any mobs that show their ugly mug.

If you can't decide on a job to play, you could give arcanist a try. Both a DPS and a Healer (and potentially a tank) all in one.
