For those of you in recruitment or in hiring positions

Yes. If people bother to upload, attach CV and press apply, then the company should send auto emails to let them know that they’ve receive the application and...notify even if not successful.

I will share my experiences why even generic notification emails are important.

Applied for a job that I’m confident that I would be called for interview. heard nothing no email of acceptance/notification. Called HR as I noticed that they keep on advertising, promised that they will notify me, still nothing. Couple of months later, the hiring department asked me to go in for an interview via recruiter. when I told them that I’ve initially applied directly, they were kicking themselves because they could’ve saved recruitment fees.

Another one, I was informed by the hiring manager (through a connection) to send an email to HR and was given the specific email address. Spent all my time tailoring CV/resume etc. Nothing. Called HR and was told that she brushed off my resume because I didn’t apply through the company website. you would think that she can bother with a 1 sentence response to say that.
