Sustainable/rejected groceries

Our retailers don't really do glorious bargain discount Aisles

In other parts of the world there is always a grocery aisle with all the stuff which is going past it's use by date and stuff gets very heavily discounted.

However, it is really difficult to track and record this information so coles and woolies utlise companies such as secondbite, foodbank etc where they can bulk transfer all the food allowing them to proclaim that they provided 15.5 million kg to charity. They're great programs so I'm not knockin' it.

You can search here for collections https://www.foodbank.org.au/find-food/?state=nsw-act

There isn't really an in between that I know of, perhaps someone can correct me on this though.
