Forcing women to have children is akin to slavery, says a devoutly Christian abortion doctor

Yeah this is a situation in which it's good to have dissenting voices here. I can understand where many of the women in this thread are coming from when they describe the fetus as a "parasite" or talk about it being "self defence" etc. I don't agree with them but I can see why they say it and still support the right for women to choose. However, I think people in here should really be aware that they are taking a very extreme position with that language and that most men and women would find that sort of rhetoric alienating and frankly a bit demented. We need more people who are apathetic or on the fence to give their support (because let's face it, the hardcore pro-lifers are not going to be any more convinced by this argument than anyone on here would be convinced that abortion is murder). This sort of aggressive stance is not helping, and people shouldn't think that the sort of fringe ideology being displayed in this thread is anywhere near the mainstream or likely to appeal to them. Practically every woman I know is pro-choice and would be disgusted at some of the stuff said on here. Not a good way to make allies.
