I got cheated on in an LDR. She was asleep next to me, roughly 3000 miles from home, when I found out.

I'd been suspicious of her not being truthful with me. One day, during our week or two together, I'd woken up before she did and checked her phone, which I had fingerprint access to. I knew she was in contact with her ex, which is what raised my suspicion, so I looked at their conversations.

She told him she was going to break up with me, prior to taking a plane over to mine. There were also late night texts aplenty, and she used the same nicknames for him as she did for me. When I confronted her, she said she didn't want to go through with the breakup, because she was reminded of how much she was in love with me. Naively, I (sort of) bought it and later that day had the most awkward conversation with my parents, when they came over for lunch.

Then, after a couple of days, she flew back home and two days later said she wanted a break. I told her we didn't need one, cause we're done, and ended up committing 'social media suicide' (apart from a couple that she never contacted me on, like Reddit). I haven't looked back since.
