Yeah his stats are out of touch, plus you don't just.. leave the military (as in, individually wave goodbye and walk off). Military is also pretty split along the same lines we all are (see my other post to you) and that does include the top brass. A faction can definitely break off with one general going fuck that order, let's go do this one other thing instead - most troops that I know aren't extremist and they just follow their CO. Think of it like this, you're surrounded by 1000 friends - you hear about a fight from someone near you, you're not sure who started it or why or whatever but your best friend says you should go over there now and you do. Most of the military, like you said, is logistics. You push a button, you fix a helicopter, you login to check email, you get the point. It's actually very fucking boring. So one day you wake up and your CO says push this other button and you do. You don't really have to be an extremist to do it, especially because it's an order, and you've never questioned an order.

I'd add to this that majority of the military is absolutely retarded in every sense of the word. Like, fucking stupid downright imbeciles (no offense to the troops but I've been on reddit long enough to have seen you guys admit it countless times). Most of us are in front of computers with the freedom to think this through etc. They don't think, they just.. do. There are very few who do think (the brass and some exceptions) and those would be the ones to break off. The rest wouldn't even know what the fuck was happening before it happened (kinda like the atom bomb where the captain who dropped the bomb knew what he was dropping.
